In memory of Max, his wife, Helen, has set up the Max Imhoff scholarship fund to help underprivileged children who are hoping to study a science subject at university. This was something Max was very keen on when he was working in Mwanza. In Tanzania you often find very able students coming into the sixth form from a local school, usually on some funding, who are able to get a place at university through having good grades but might have some financial hardship when taking up the place. So the scholarship can help with their accommodation costs, travel and text books. The students chosen will be Tanzanian and the money will go directly to the student, no middle man or agent.
