Story

Emily was a 17 year old girl who was tragically killed in a road traffic accident in Italy in November 2017. She was born in Nuneaton and spent the first 8 years of her life living there and attending Gun Hill School and Herbert Fowler School. She moved with her family to Italy in 2009 where she lived until the accident. In Italy she lived in a small town in central Italy. It's a very close knit community, family orientated and the Young people from the surrounding areas make up a group of drummers and flag throwers who give up their time freely and form a magnificent display in traditional medieval costumes in a variety of European towns to tens of thousands of people. Emily was a part of the GAMS family and an active participant in all of their displays. She was much loved and was the heart and soul of the group. As a show of the GAMS love and affection for Emily they have asked if they can do a performance in Emily's home town Nuneaton. They have an offer to participate in the Nuneaton Carnival on June 10th 2018 to show off the talent and Pay their respects to Emily. They are giving up 5 days of their time to get from Italy to Nuneaton and return. But this is at a cost and as the aim of the carnival is to raise funds for well deserving causes in and around Nuneaton and Warwickshire. It would be a great help for the members of the GAMS if they could get some financial help and assistance and help raise money for charity. The cost of the trip for 20-30 people is likely to be around £5000. Any help with the costs no matter how small would enable them to come to Nuneaton and give the public a unique display that the vast majority of people in the area have never seen or are unlikely to see without travelling to Italy.
