Story

Nearly three years ago at the age of 16 I was diagnosed with ITP at the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport, South Wales. With my platelet levels being 1. Normal range should be 150-400.

ITP is a rare auto-immune blood condition that affects your blood platelets and the clotting of your blood.

ITP is a life threatening condition that affects your blood platelets & it can happen to anyone at any age at any time. There is currently no cure for ITP. I have had 5 out of 6 of the treatments. I've had platelet transfusions, immunoglobulin transfusions, steroid treatments, hormone pill treatments & chemotherapy. Among all of that, there are several painful treatments to help diagnose ITP. Including a bone marrow biopsy. Which I have also had. With this condition affecting anyone from as young as birth, I feel it's important to help make people aware of this very rare condition.

I am now two years in remission but it can come back at anytime, even from catching a simple thing like a common cold.

Help me find a cure for myself and others affected by this condition.
