Story
I have rather rashly entered a 10K swim event, on the river Dart in Devon and I am appealing for sponsorship. This is a distance I have not attempted before and as it takes place in September with water temperatures expected to be about 12C or below, its going to be quite a challenge!
All the funds generated will go to support a cause I am passionate about – a “Child Africa” school in Kabale, Uganda. I was privileged to be involved in the setting up of a link with this school, back in 2014, when I was teaching at Littleover Community School, Derby and I am delighted that this link has grown stronger, year on year.
I wish you all could see first hand, as I have, the huge positive impact this “Child Africa” school is having on the lives of some of the most disadvantaged children. Life changing, is a term much over used but is wholly appropriate in this situation. It is inspirational to meet and hear the stories of so many people whose lives have been transformed through the work of “Child Africa” and this school. The great thing is, that because of our on going work we know where every penny is being spent.
