The City of Houston and the surrounding area received over 51 inches of rain in a 3 day period when Hurricane Harvey stalled over the area. Houston personnel all performed admirably and manned key roles to keep the office running and to protect the PnL. While most of the Citi Commodities personnel emerged from the hurricane with minimal property damage, there were 19 personnel who experienced a loss of car due to flooding, flood waters in their houses, or both car losses and house flooding. These impacted personnel are a diverse group including Ops, IT, Finance, Front Office, Legal, and MQA.

Citi as an organization has done an outstanding job in pledging donations to relief organizations such as the Red Cross during this time of need for Houston. That said, the Citi Commodities Management team would like a more targeted relief fund for the impacted employees for the Houston Office, which will involve matching gifts from some of the members of the Commodities ExCo Leadership Team.

This is a completely voluntary fund drive to help our commodities colleagues. While there is no obligation to participate in this effort, every contribution (no matter what size) will be greatly appreciated by those in need, so please give generously.
