Story
Committee Youth believes that teenagers are not given enough structured long term support at a time in their lives when they are at their most vulnerable and at a time in their lives when they are most impressionable!
Committee Youth Champions will get involved with volunteering plans, outings and local activities and this will incorporate EVERY young person in Shenley that wishes to get involved. This initiative is fully supported and working in conjunction with Shenley Parish Council. The founder of this group does not believe in social exclusion, therefore reiterating that ALL young people are welcome on board – however this can only be done with your help!
Committee Youth is the first of its kind youth group which gives teenagers the chance to receive quick wins for long term gains and steer them away from a life of potential crime by allowing them to express themselves in a way only they know how! A youth project, on their terms – with a safety net by adults who have been there, done it and got the t-shirt!
Committee Youth is a community driven youth project supporting our young people age range but not exclusive to 13 - 19 years in reaching their potential through an inclusive and cohesive programme of activities based on initiatives, reward, leadership and accountability development. In return for a programme of activities our young people will participate in a variety of community based activities from building small projects, agricultural and other work based experiences as well as participate in community based events.
Committee Youth is run by volunteers from a range of backgrounds – Residential care, Prison Officer, Project Management, Councillors, Shenley Parish Council, Life Coach and lawyers.
Committee Youth Champions (our young people) will attend two activities per week and one main event per month as standard and the only way we can do this is with your generous help!
Your generous donations will support these teenagers by;
*Starting up *
X20 concessionary Inspire annual memberships – total £100.00
X20 junior gym inductions – total £160.00
Set of 24 water based sprays for newly installed graffiti wall – total £ 108.00
Safety kit for graffiti wall – total £30.00
*On-going costs for one month *
X10 YPs per week to attend splash/inflatable swimming – total for month £140.00
X10 YPs per week to attend junior gym – total for month £160.00
For 10 YPs to attend cinema, the standard 2D cost per month would be £416.00 therefore we will be applying for membership passes on a monthly charge of £17.90 at Cineworld which will then give the young people even more discounts. And the total for X10 young people per month is £179.00 that’s a saving of £237.00 per month! That’s fantastic!!
Start up - £398
Ongoing monthly costs for two activities - £479
These all total to a pretty penny of £ 877.00
So as you can see your money will go towards an amazing cause and without it our teenagers may not have the opportunities to grow into confident and well-rounded individuals who value and give back to their communities. There is much more information on our Facebook page about other ideas and implementations @CommitteeYouth2019 please do take a look to see just how valued your generous donations will be in helping to grow our youth into positive members of our communities.
Thank you very much for taking a look and supporting Committee Youth

Hi, My goal is to empower teenagers to believe in themselves so that can be anyone they chose to be and be able and constructive members of Shenley Community. Teenagers deserve more structured long term support, they deserve to have fun and just be kids!!
