Story

As part of Rugby School's 450th Anniversary, our programme of events will recognise the School’s key values within the local community. Our event on September 27 is to recognise the importance we place on both community spirit, and service to the community. To emphasise the joy of community spirit, the entire School will be spending the day together. In the morning we will walk for one and a half hours around Draycote Water and in the afternoon we will engage in a series of fun activity games. During the evening we will enjoy a picnic on The Close listening to music played by pupils from both the School and Lawrence Sheriff. Emphasising the value we place on service to the community, we will be inviting Senior Citizens of Rugby to join us in the afternoon, and prior to and during the day, we will also be raising funds for the Bradby Club. The Club has supported young people of Rugby for over 95 years since its foundation by Rugby Schoolmaster, Revd Canon Bonhote, and retired Housemaster, G.F. Bradby in 1919, and over the years, many hundreds of School pupils have supported the Club's activities.

In addition a team of six teachers who are keen cyclists have volunteered to jump on their bikes and cycle from our London Estate on Lamb's Conduit Street in Bloomsbury back to Rugby School. The cycle team have estimated as they will be avoiding motorways that they will ride 450miles in total.

Thank you for your support and donations.
