Story
Following their retirement to Seydikemer in Turkey, Tony and Ginette are the first people to step in and assist others in times of crisis. Ginette recently had to undergo emergency brain surgery at the Letoon Hospital in Fethiye. Without the skills of the surgeon in charge and the speed at which the trauma team reacted the outcome could have proved fatal.
With Tony's constant care Ginette is making a recovery which will take time, but the stress upon both of them during this period of recovery is debilitating ; Stress that has been compounded by the failure of their insurers to provide indemnity. Having taken the sensible precaution to insure for medical emergencies, the realisation that the large costs incurred would not be settled by insurers could only inhibit Ginette's chances of a speedy recovery. I find myself, as an insurance professional of over 35 years, embarrassed at the way they have been treated by their insurers.
I would ask that each of us try to imagine the situation in which both Ginette and Tony find themselves and how each of us would wish our friends, colleagues and family to react in similar circumstances.
For the sake of clarity Cornish Insurance had no part in providing, recommending, or giving advice in respect of the policy in question.
