I am a mountain girl through and through. It is in the mountains we show our best: toughness, resilience, endurance and courage. Our hearts embrace nature and fill us with a sense of gratitude for what we have been given and a determination to give back. That is why I am trying to climb up to 5000Mt on Mount Kenya over six days in aid of Home-Start RKH, a charity very close to my heart.

As we emerge from the pandemic, straight into the cost-of-living crisis, many families are struggling to cope. Overwhelmed by rising prices, some are having to choose between heating and eating and the impact this is having on young children will be severe and long-lasting.

Home-Start's team of trained volunteers change lives by throwing struggling parents a lifeline - and with your help they can reach more families in crisis.
