Story

I am taking on the Illuminator Half Marathon on 28 October 2017. The 15 mile run takes place during the night through the Glen Tanar forest.

The run will be in complete darkness apart from a head torch and a light zone half way round with a total ascent of 1969ft!!!

With my dodgy kness and hamstrings even the training is proving to be tough!!

In doing this I am looking to help a local hospital fund an important piece of medical equipment. The Glen o Dee hospital has cared for a number of close relatives and has gone to great lengths to provide a warming and caring environment for both patients and relatives.

Having spoken to Agnes Mckenzie, treasurer for the "Friends of Glen o Dee", it has been made clear that the Glen has been able to provide home comforts and medical equipment solely from generous donations from local businesses, relatives, patients and friends.

The hospital are currently looking to purchase a Dopller machine that is used to detect blood clots (DTV). This machine will save patients having to wait for transfers/waiting times to ARI, it is estimated to cost £1000, and I would love to be able to raise something towards helping fund this.
