Story

Since 2004 a team from Dalziel Rugby Club in Motherwell has travelled to Warsaw to take part in the annual Warsaw Rugby Festival. This year, the event was due to take place from Friday 22nd until Sunday 24th May. Understandably, due to the on-going COVID-19 situation the event has been cancelled.

In the true spirit of rugby and as a reflection of the friendships that have been built with tournament hosts, Warsaw Frogs & Co we at Dalziel are embarking on a team challenge to raise money for charity. Monies raised will be split equally between our partner, Beatson Cancer and Warsaw Frogs & Co chosen charity, Prometeusz Dla Seniorów who provide assistance and advice to the elderly.

The challenge? Dalziel Rugby Club members will attempt to walk, run, cycle or row a combined team total of 2253 kilometres - the distance from Dalziel Park to Warsaw in 7 days. That's 1400 miles!

In return, we hope to raise £2253 to split between both charities. Please donate what you can. Look out for progress updates on our social media channels.
