    Story

I have decided to raise money for two much deserving causes. The first being, the Sheffield sabres U13s Ice Hockey team, who despretley need funds to get them to Besancon, France. Where they have been invited to represent UK ice hockey at a tournament in April. The second being the Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice, who do amazing things for the deserving children and thier families in our local area.

    Event Background

I will be running a distance of 700 miles carrying a military bergan weighing in excess of 20kg. This distance is to replicate running from our team base here in Sheffield to the home of the tournament in Besancon,France. I will complete this over 87 consecutive days starting on 27/01/19 and Finishing 24/04/19 (The day before embarking on our journey to France). Therfore, each day I will complete a distance of 8.1 Miles (Equalling 704.7).

    Background on Causes

    Sheffield Sabres U13s

The Sheffield Sabres U13s who are part of the Sheffield Ice Hockey Academy have been invited to play in an international tournament in Besancon, France this April.

The team currently compete in the English Ice Hockey North league and travel all over the north of England to places such as Billingham, Solihull, Manchester and Whitley bay.

We are a really hard working team made up of players who have been playing for a number of years, to players who are in thier 1st season and have only been skating for a few months.

    Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice

The dream of Bluebell Wood began in 1998, with the vision to help families in this area who wanted an alternative to hospital care. Fundraising started when 11-year-old Richard and his mum wanted him to pass away at home.

In 2004, your support made our £4.5 million dream come true and we began to build the hospice. On the 19th September 2008, we opened the doors to the first families who needed us.

Since then, you’ve helped us support hundreds of children from across South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire and parts of North Lincolnshire.

“We believe that every family deserves to make magical memories with their child, whether they have years, months, weeks or days together.”

Bluebell Wood is a home from home for families facing the toughest of times, with a comfy lounge and beautiful gardens. We’re always cooking up mouth-watering meals and tasty treats in the kitchen for families. There’s also plenty of fun activities for children to try, including soft play, arts and crafts, music therapy and much more.

    Conclusion

Please get behind and support these two great causes in any way you can! Lets all help to put smiles on all their much deserving faces and let all the children see! that dreams really can come true.

    Thanks in Advance x

Well that was the hardest run yet! 🏃‍♂️ Thanks to Craig Houghton 😮 #intensedoms Probably wasn’t the best idea to run 10 miles and then do your bootcamp yesterday 😂 It took all of my determination and my might to put my trainers on and get out on the run today! But this challenge after all, is bigger than me! It’s all about the kids and setting the right example! “That they can achieve anything, they put their mind too” Day 56 ✅
