Story
This the story of Shelby who receives very little support financially, she is an incredible Lady and such an amazing inspiration to so many people.
I'm currently a student studying early years childcare with the hopes of becoming a Nursery teacher.
I named my first ever wheelchair racer Wilson, after the Volley ball on the Cast Away movie (the Tom Hanks one)
In my free time I love to read! Bit of a nerd! I also enjoy helping out with the local food bank donations that is done every year by Tesco.
Other than that I'm just the average 20 year old that loves to socialise and eat cake!
I started racing after watching the 2012 Paralympics and was inspire to take up sport. I feel In love with racing at 16 and never looked back!
I am a T33 wheelchair racer, ranked the fastest T33 female wheelchair racer in the world. Currently holding 7 world records. I race the 100m 200m 400m 800m 1500m on track. I train twice a day, six times a week. I train with the D&G physical disability athletics club in Dumfries on a Friday evening at the David Keswick centre. I train along side some really lovely people!
I travel internationally to compete and make my country proud. Every time I compete I carry a Scottish flag in the back of my wheelchair so that once the race is over I can raise it.
The comp in August is the biggest this year for me by far! And it's actually the same comp that I claimed my first two world records!
