Story
The members of the Rotary Club of Cambridge South usually spend their December weekends raising money for local good causes by manning Car Parks in the centre of Cambridge which are temporarily kindly donated to them by
Cambridge University & The Department of Chemistry.
Thousands take advantage of these car parks to avoid the crowds and enjoy the bargain price of parking all day in the centre of Cambridge for just £7. Many generous customers donate considerably more than the minimum price.
Unfortunately, this year, due to COVID this cannot take place.
This will result in many worthwhile local good causes missing out on vital funding. Last year the RC of Cambridge South distributed over £35,000 from their car parking activity.
It is vital that we replace as much of this lost funding as possible.
Not down-hearted, some members of the RC of Cambridge South have undertaken to do a sponsored challenge, each undertaking to complete some physical challenge and raise sponsorship during the month of December.
So we need your help to replace these much needed funds so we can again support these excellent good causes in the work they do in our community .
This year we are looking to support Jimmy's Night Shelter, The Salvation Army, The Arthur Rank Hospice, Cambridge Foodbanks, Camsight and other local good causes.
You can help in the following ways:
• If you usually park with us donate your usual fee via this Just Giving page
• Sponsor our intrepid Rotarians as they complete their December challenges via this Just Giving page
• Complete a challenge for us and raise your own sponsorship, details available from Rotarian David Ellis, davidellis365@btinternet.com
• Pass this notice on to friends and family who you feel may help
