Saving Cavaliers......#Mirabelle
Recently we lost our little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Lottie, whom we adopted at 4 years old, this was due to Mitral Valve Disease, Syringomyellia, and Kidney failure, our girl would of been 13 , two weeks before she passed away. she was a beautiful girl and we loved her to bits.. ..we were broken hearted when she had to leave us .. and our Golden Retreiver Jenssen was missing her so much..
3 weeks later, we fell in love with, and rescued a beautiful trip-colour ex puppy farm breeding bitch, whom we had seen on the Saving Cavaliers Facebook page, we named her Princess Mirabelle, and she quickly settled into our family, and she bonded with Jenssen.... she is a little angel, she is very affectionate, and loves cuddles and being shown love.. she experienced lots of new things like going to the beach, going for walks, and going in the car for rides........ very sadly last week she started developing pain in her neck, and was walking with an odd gait, so we took her to the vet , who recommended an urgent MRI scan. The scan revealed that she had the dreaded disease Syringomyellia, which is a very painful hereditary condition, CKCS are pre disposed to due to poor breeding programmes, and the scan also revealed another very serious condition called MUA, this is Meningoencephalitis , which is an auto- immune disorder, and causes inflammation in the spinal cord, and brain... treatment for this is very limited, and Mirabelle also got pneumonia, so could not start cortisteroids straight away as this would suppress her immune system too much, so she has to have chemotherapy, which she has had. We are praying that this works for her, and gets her well....Mirabelle deserves to have a fantastic life, and we have only had her weeks, so are devastated...
On Sunday 3rd of September 2017, I am running with the Parachute Regiment at Catterick Garrison, in aid of the Saving Cavaliers, I am completing a Paras 10, this a Parachute Regiment Selection Course, and it is 10 miles, carrying a 35lb Bergen in full Military Uniform and Boots, which is quite a feat at 47years of age!!!
Please support me in raising money for these little dogs who need rehoming due to puppy farming, or rehoming due to no fault of their own, or supporting any rescued dogs with any medical needs.....all funds will be donated to Saving Cavaliers UK..
