In a few weeks time, our 3 sons and I are undertaking what is undoubtedly the biggest challenge of my life (even bigger than being married 34 years).

We will be climbing the might that is Mount Kilimanjaro. It's a task that will take us 7 days, climbing to a height of 5,895 metres - higher than Everest base camp! - whilst enduring an ever changing climate, through desert discs to tropical rainstorms, all without a mobile signal, aka peace!

Deciding on what charity to support is always difficult. Since moving to the village 50 years ago we have been involved in various activities within the community, and I feel as though I want to support something close to home.

I have therefore decided to raise money for Scotter Tennis Club to help towards the cost of refurbishing its facilities. I will also then match any funds in excess of my target and split this between the tennis club and Scotter Chapel.

Any donations, big or small that people can provide would be greatly appreciated.
