I've raised £30000 to raise money for Dean Eastmond's family and selected charities.

At 19 years old journalist Dean Eastmond launched LGBT+ culture magazine HISKIND, and at 20 he was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Using his platform, he has continuously shared his journey through the honesty of his writing, campaigned for LGBT+ rights and fought against inequalities LGBT+ people face in the health-care system.
Winning the 2017 Attitude Pride award for his incredible work, his brave and truthful words have empowered and inspired so many. His passion for writing has sparked a lot of positive change for the LGBT+ community, such as fighting for fertility rights and campaigning for LGBT+ training for nurses and hospital staff.
At 21, he received the horrific news that his cancer had spread, and he sadly lost his battle. Despite everything, his voice has continued to raise awareness, provide comfort for many others struggling with the disease and he has triumphed fighting for the rights of the LGBT+ community.
On 20th September, London's LGBT+ community will pull together in a fundraising event to celebrate Dean and his achievements. All money raised will be donated to Dean's family and the charities that supported him during treatment including Teenage Cancer Trust, Clic Sargent, Macmillan and Sarcoma UK. We will also turn Dean's cancer column into a zine for LGBT+ cancer patients around the country
