Story

My daughter Shannon is trying to raise £1500 to place a memorial bench along the sea front here in Jersey in memory of her uncle, Paul Channing. She also wants to support a local charity Headway to support survivors of head injures.

Shannon is hoping to raise enough by May 2018 as this will mark 5 years since Paul was so tragically taken from us all. January 2018 would have also been Paul's 50th birthday.

Paul Channing was a devoted, kind, caring, hard working family man who loved nothing more than to be with the people who he cared for.
He was always the person to make you laugh and brightened up everyone's day. Although his jokes were sometimes not fully understood you could not help but laugh along.
Paul was a family man who was married to his soul mate and had 3 beautiful children.

Paul was a well loved man by all who knew him and when the news of his accident was heard it shook so many people all over the island.

Paul was involved in a cycle accident on Beaumont hill in May 2013 and tragically passed away from his injuries, leaving behind his wife and 3 beautiful children.

Every year on the anniversary of Paul's passing my 2 daughters and I release memory balloons with our personal messages. ( this tradition will be replaced with bubble blowing to be environmentally friendly)

Shannon would like to have a memorial bench placed along the sea front so that all who knew Paul can have a special place to go to remember him.

As well as this page Shannon was making cushions and selling them at various locations to help reach her target.

Please donate what you can to our cause and share our story.

Money raised over £1000 will be donated to headway and will also go toward the bench plaque.

thank you for taking the time to read our story.
