I am trying to raise some money to help pay towards the cost of private online school fees for my 15 year old daughter. My daughter has struggled with anxiety for many years and excessive bullying at school led to 2 suicide attempts. As a single mom, to get that call from her crying her eyes out saying ‘mom ive done something silly’ while i was at work, absolutely broke my heart. I raced home (an hours drive) while calling the ambulance on the way. Luckily my son was only around the corner so he stayed with her and the ambulance crew. we then went to hospital and after blood tests and counselling, we were then allowed home. This was the second time she had attempted suicide -because of bullying at school and anxiety. She absolutely hated school. But i persisted, for about 18 months. Every day i woke up i didnt know if she would even be in her room (she ran away 3 times) or if she was even alive . (That sounds dramatic, but this was my reality). My beautifil daughter had turned into a reclusive, stressed, anxious, nervous wreck. I went through child counselling to try and help her but the last straw was the day she looked at me with tearful eyes and said ‘i would rather be dead than go to school’. That was my turning point because i knew she meant it. After a few months of researching, i found Interhigh, an online school that follows the curriculum. I had enough money to pay for the first term. She is now flying - i have my old daughter back. She is like a new child. She is chatty, laughs again and very rarely gets anxious. However, i have now used any savings i had to pay for her first term. She is in Year 10 so has just the summer term of year 10 to finish and then Year 11. the cost is £1,100 a term so i am trying to raise some money towards this. My ex partner is pleading poverty so wont help. Please help me to raise some money to keep my daughter safe and happy. Thank you for listening. Liz x
