Story

Geneen Hopkin-Williams and her sister Morag are taking on the challenge of running the West Coast half marathon on 8th October. Starting in Preston and finishing in Lytham St Annes, these brave ladies are running 13 miles, with proceeds going to Ashley Russell's medical treatment.

On 7th August Ashley Russell was admitted to Royal Preston Hospital for a fast track MRI scan as advised by his optician who had discovered shadowing behind his left eye. By the 9th of August Ashley had been told that a large grade 2 cancerous mass had been discovered on his brain known as Glioma. Ashley was dealt more bad news that the tumour had wrapped itself around vital blood vessels and for any operation to be effective, 95% would need to be removed, which in turn would risk affecting his ability to see, speak and move. His family believe in modern medicine and need to raise funds in trying anything possible that could help, with the likelyhood of having to seek treatment abroad.
