Story
As most of you will know, this year I challenged myself to raise awareness of stillbirth having lost my first daughter, Hope, at 27 weeks. Despite not making it to earth, she's no less thought of than her younger sister Nieve and I've been consciously been making it an effort to talk about her more than ever (you can read my full story here https://hernameishopesite.wordpress.com/2017/01/30/first-blog-post/ )
You'll also know that I'm no natural athlete but committed to the challenge, this year I'm tackling The Great North Run with my little sister Natalie (also no natural athlete!). We're under no illusion that it will be anything less than tough for both of us, we've racked up some miles (but admitedly not enough!), but spotting those white feathers on the pavement will be all we need to get through the 13.1 miles of pain and exhaustion.
All support, small or large, will go to the chairty I set up earlier this year - Her Name Is Hope - and will go towards the child beareavement services at James Cook so they can use it to create a comforting environment for those who are dealing with child loss. I'll be forever grateful for what they did for me. I also hope to raise enough overall to sponsor a cuddle cot with 4Louis who also, proved to be a pillar of support to me and Brent during our grief.
