Story
I met Eoin at the London Screenwriter's Festival in 2012. We kept in touch over the years, sharing bits of work, making intros, getting the occasional coffee. I didn't know him that well, but I knew he loved writing. Today I learned that he had lost his battle with cancer. What awful sad news. He leaves his wife Bo and young daughter Willow behind him, and I send them my heart felt sympathy. I know we all do.
I'll remember him, and his memory will inspire me. He is someone who kept going, kept plugging away and whose persistance was just starting to pay off: his original TV series BROKEN KINGDOM was in development with Fastnet Films and New Media Vision with support from the Irish Film Board. He was also the lead writer on a new TV project with Hat Trick and Amber Productions, plus his film script RED FLAG was under option to NightSky Films.
I wanted to make a gesture to help little Willow have a holiday or nice day trip, or anything, and thought that others - especially fellow writers at the London Screenwriters Festival this weekend - might want to do the same.
All money raised will be given to Eoin's wife.
