After a traumatic delivery our beautiful 'little big man' Eoin, was diagnosed with severe H.I E. (Hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy) which took his life after 10 days of phenomenal care at UHCW in the Neonatal ward.

The level of care, compassion and empathy we have encountered from each and every nurse, midwife, consultant epitomises the importance of our NHS. They have gone beyond their professional calling at every turn to provide 24hr care and support for myself, Jack and Eoin. We cannot thank them enough.

There are not enough words to sum up our gratitude for everything the nurses and midwives have done for our family.
Eoin, Jack and I were provided with the precious time we had due to the care Eoin received whilst in ITU. This was invaluable. At the most heart breaking time we have ever experienced, they prioritised us as a family and enabled us to build memories. We were able to say goodbye to our 'Little Big Man' with dignity, with love and at our own pace.

In their care, I was able to be a mum and do all the little things others may take for granted such as feeding Eoin, changing a dirty nappy and having story time at night. I can't thank them enough for this and for helping us to feel somewhat 'normal' at that time.

The level of professionalism, empathy and comfort we received was beyond anything we could have hoped for, and for that we will be forever in their debt.

There were so many individuals that stood out and shone in our eyes. The team pulled together to ensure every facet of our health was provided for, whether this be with the best tea and toast whilst having skin to skin with Eoin or a being given a hug when we most needed it. Everything was faultless and epitomises the reasons why the NHS is so important.

We would like to show our appreciation by raising money for the Labour Ward and Neonatal ward where we were both cared for, to go towards life saving equipment in Eoin's memory.
