Story

There are very few employment vacancies that can cater for people with disabilities, the harsh reality is that employers are unlikely to change the set up of their business to accommodate them & they cannot be blamed for this as they are there to make maximum profit. I hope to open a gift shop and print studio where all the items for sale are printed (with as little supervision as possible) by the staff employed, all of which will be registered as disabled or have learning difficulties, the shop will also have a coffee lounge area for drinks and snacks. Alongside standard sales of gifts there will be online sales of safety stickers and signs. Also plenty of people with disabilities have to raise funds themselves for equipment they need that may not be provided by the NHS etc. for example accessible bikes, beach wheelchairs etc. we would like to offer a profit share system where these people can come in to design items for sale, we will print them advertise them for sale in store and online and post them then split the profits 50/50 so ensuring the running of the premises can carry on and also help raise funds for the chosen project, the people will also be invited to help design & print the items they wish to sell which is purely optional. The project start up costs are a minimum of £30000 which is a large amount but I am sure it can be reached. The bigger picture is to open more stores nationwide, some with their own print studios but others stocked via a single print unit which will remain based in Bodmin and will provide more jobs for people who sometimes don't get a chance. There are so many parents of disabled people who worry what the future holds for their children after their education is finished, with your help we can ease the worry for some of these and hopefully many more in the future. I don't expect people to give their hard earned money for nothing so every donation will get you a drink and and a small gift from the store aftrer we are open. Even if the donations only reach 1% of the target, this project will still go ahead even if it means opening for just a few hours a week then growing from there. As long as the premises can cope with it I would like to offer a youth club evening once a week too but this may be something for the future as cannot be guaranteed to start off with
