Our son Macs Jonah was born sleeping on the 13th April 2017. Macs was very poorly and sadly was not for this world.

In memory of Macs and all the other fallen angels, I will be running the Cardiff Half marathon on the 1st of Oct and 10k in sept with Geraint. We have been so lucky as both new and old friends are taking time to run for a cause which is so close to Geraint and my heart, but also we all know somebody who has left hospital with empty arms but a heart that never forgets.

The weeks leading to the birth of Macs were filled with tests and lots of time to be left with our own thoughts. The staff at the neonatal unit in the Heath Hospital were wonderful and so supportive providing with all the information for both the birth but also information on the aftermath.

We delivered in our local hospital and we got to hold Macs and create precious memories that we will treasure forever. We also got to say goodbye with a funeral, which so many parents don't have. These were the darkest days of our lives. Geraint and I thankfully have our other little boy Rua to help us through but there will always be an emptiness.

We have fantastic family, friends and workplaces that have been so supportive and understanding who we really cant thank enough.

I mentioned the Heath Hospital, but we also had such huge help from SANDS charity and 2 wish upon a star. They are absolutely brilliant in what they do and gave all the information we needed to make sure we got to say goodbye as we wanted. However, the after care is so important and they fund counselling, supply the memory boxes and were so compassionate and empathic.

So please support us in shining some more light on such dark times for so many families. These funds will help charities that enable families to obtain all the help and support they require.
