My name is Evie and I am a member of Girl Guiding. I have been lucky enough to be selected for a community project trip with Girl Guiding to Udaipur in Rajasthan, Northern India.

I will be travelling with a group of 14 other girls and 3 leaders. Whilst we are there we will be working on a social action project which will involve working with a local school and teaching English to the younger children, helping to refurbish and repaint areas of the school as well as helping with homework and outreach projects to help make a difference to their lives. We are also going to be meeting local Girl Guides along with Hindi lessons, yoga, Indian cookery classes, visiting forts, temples and going on a camel safari where we will be sleeping under the stars in the desert. I cannot wait, it is going to be such an incredible experience !

The trip is planned for Summer 2021 and part of the commitment to the trip is to fundraise to cover the cost of the 3 week trip. I’ve already made a start by doing a front garden plant sale and some of my other ideas for raising funds include christmas tree collection ( with the help of my dad ! ) for recycling, doing odd jobs in the neighbourhood and a quiz night with my guide unit when we are able to gather in groups again.
