Suicide and suicidal behaviour is a family affair, in that it affects everyone in the family, irrespective of age. Often children are lshut out from the full story and grief of older family members; these children are referred to the "forgotten victims." Our #LWAS 2017 to open to any family ........ and their friends who have been affected by suicide and suicidal behaviours; specifically children and young adults. An event that will allow families to come together with other families, who have shared the same experiences and trauma, offering peer support and hope for the future.
Our event offers free children's activities suitable for young adults and young children and free refreshments and a Tea & Talk tent. Free buses are available to and from Strathclyde Park by Blameless Charity.
Our vision for #LWAS 2017 is to raise the awareness; to as many people as possible; the scale and impact of failed and completed suicides on Families, Friends and Communities. Additionally to raise awareness of the potential triggers for suicidal behaviour; and signpost the local support available - providing information and choices for all.
Participants will experience a wide range of emotions including, solidarity, courage, pride, defiance of any stigma, understanding and hope.
