Story

The government's politically-motivated badger cull is imminent in zones across England, including Cheshire. Thanks to Cheshire Against The Cull, Wounded Badger Patrols and other organizations, we have dedicated people in place ready to work nightly out in the field (literally) to protect Cheshire's badgers from the shooters. But they're desperately in need of field equipment, namely thermal imaging gear which will let them see what's going on in the dark even a few fields away. The shooters have this equipment already!

This appeal is URGENT because there will be very little notice ahead of the start of the cull, and the past few years have shown that most badgers are killed in the first two weeks of a cull.

After the end of the cull in Cheshire, the equipment could be loaned to other cull zones or to local badger groups etc.

Anyone donating will have their name entered onto a 'roll of honour' banner which we will have out at future badger-related events and activities (NB you can opt out of this if you like, just tell us if so!)

So much hard work has been done to try and prevent this cull, through lobbying MPs, petitions, demonstrations and so on - but to no avail. It's finally imminent and this is our very last chance to help save badgers' lives.

The badger is an iconic native species and an Ice Age survivor, now being scapegoated callously for political ends. Please help if you can. Thank you.
