Story

We were all ready for our baby and looking forward to meeting him, only 4 weeks until due date, we were so excited. Then at 36 weeks pregnant I realised I hadn’t felt him move for a while. I tried to wake him and get him moving but there was nothing. I rang the midwives who told us to come in. We were checked over and then told the devastating news, our baby had died. We saw a number of people over the next few days and 3 days later our beautiful boy Freddie was born sleeping. I can’t describe how we felt that day. It was one of the worst days I could ever imagine but we had so much love for our boy and are great full to be able to spend some time with him. Leaving the hospital without our baby was heartbreaking. I felt that nobody could understand. But thanks to baby loss charities, I knew someone somewhere knew what we were going through. I’d like to raise money to help as many causes as possible to let other families going through this know that they are not alone.
We’re aiming to complete a number of challenges/fundraising events over the next year to raise money which will be divided between charities who have helped us and so many others. I also want to raise awareness of stillbirth/neonatal death and help people feel they can talk about it, helping those who have been through this heartbreak to feel a little less alone. Please don’t hide away from a family who have gone through something like this because it’s hard to find the words, instead ask them their baby’s name and let them talk about their baby x
