Story

Danny, one of our Directors, has visited Cambodia on numerous occasions, for work, travel and voluntary work and the country holds a special place in his heart. On his last visit this summer, he visited Khmer Cultural Development Institute in Kampot who help orphaned, disabled and vulnerable children learn how to read, write and play traditional musical instruments. The orphanage was built in 1994 and immediately had to battle through hard times as they faced threats of kidnapping as well as heavy shelling as a result of the civil war - they are still here to this day taking care of children. On Sunday 5th November, at 9am (a time unknown to most in our industry), Danny, Dan, Grech and other members of the Fresh2Death team will be running the Leeds Abbey Dash 10k in an attempt to raise our minimum £500 target. The money raised will go towards helping the orphanage continue to teach the children and maintain facilities there as well as help provide food, teaching materials, trained teachers and musical instruments. To ensure their children's protection the orphanage don't accept volunteers and rely heavily on donations and grants so any money you could spare would be greatly appreciated. A lot of people taking part in this have barely ran up their stairs so it will be a challenging day! You can click to read more about the orphanage
