Weʼve raised £925 to Providing a better life for children in Tetrem, Ghana

Funded on Thursday, 1st October 2020

    Story

Check out our News Article about this project!

Thank you for everyone who has donated to this project and we are proud to say that we have successfully raised £1,000 for the school.

The donations went towards 10 footballs, 8 sets of computers and a printer.

Kappa donated 40 football jerseys for the children.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good Foundation School is a Orphanage/ School in Tetrem, a village located in North West of Ghana.

Every child has the right to an education – whatever their background, gender or ethnicity. Yet every day, more than 61 million children don’t attend their schools. Without the opportunity to learn, children can’t develop to their full potential. They’re more likely to be trapped in cycles of poverty, poor health and forced labour – often in dangerous environments.

The school in Tetrem is in very bad condition which are made from wooden planks nailed together and equipment in the school is very limited.

"The chance to learn can change a child’s life "

I feel every person deserves to be knowledgeable about the world around them. To be able to communicate in their own language, to learn to read, to be able to make judgements in everyday life are fundamental human rights.

Some children don’t have a chance of education, as their villages are left behind, governments don’t care. If the children in Ghana are not educated they fall into the trap of CHILD LABOUR / MODERN SLAVERY.

The donations I receive will be able to give under privileged children an opportunity to access education.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Second Project Goal

As we have already hit are target for our previous project we want to aim for a different target to help the children more.

The school is also an orphanage with around 20 children which the school give the children a place to stay.

The current situation with their sleeping arrangements is they sleep on dirty sponges without a bed and some just sleep on the dusty ground.

It would be great if we can raise money for 5 bunk beds and 10 mattresses.

    A Bunk Bed is 675 cedis = £94.00

    A Mattress is 200 cedis = £28.00

So its £470.00 for five bunk beds and £280.00 for ten mattresses.

    Total £750.00

We also want to collect unwanted clothing from age range 3-17 years old. So please do get in touch if you would like to donate clothing directly to children there!

Each donor will receive a personal picture and a dedicated thank you message from a student at the school.

"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not." by Dr Seuss

I am also looking for more volunteers who that want to experience this with me! We can bring our knowledge to children in the school by teaching and give the unwanted clothing we collected directly to the school.

This would not be an volunteering experience which you go with an agency which charge you a fortune.
