Our beautiful, amazing little Florence is almost 4 years old! Although she is making great progress and never fails to surprise us, global developmental delay, sensory processing difficulties, autism and now suspected epilepsy mean that Florence faces many difficulties and daily life can be very hard and distressing for her.

Florence is unable to walk independently. We have been very lucky that the NHS have been able to provide Florence with a special needs pushchair which has provided her with much needed postural support, comfort and some sense of protection from the often intense and overwhelming world around her. Florence has now outgrown her pushchair and unfortunately due to funding restraints imposed upon them and recently changed guidelines Wheelchair Services are only able to provide a wheelchair. Although this will provide Florence with postural support and will be suitable for use in school, unfortunately it will not provide her with a sense of security or a place to hide and rest when trying to cope with the intense sensory experiences she often faces when out and about. A wheelchair will also limit the things we can do with Florence as a family. Florence loves to be outside in the fresh air, feeling the wind on her face and off roading, zooming along as fast as mummy and daddy's legs will go! We would love to be able to buy a new special needs pushchair for Florence so that she can continue to experience all the things she loves whilst feeling safe and secure. Unfortunately this magical set of wheels does not come cheap. Please don't feel obliged in any way but we are asking for any financial help possible to get Florence dashing through the breeze in a comfortable ride. It would make the world of difference and we are hugely grateful to everyone that has already supported us in so many ways.
