Story

I have enrolled on the ‘Cambodia Community Project’ run by the charitable organisation ‘Globalteer’. I will start my voluntary work in Cambodia in January 2018 working at a local school in Siem Reap.

I chose to do a gap year as a break from study and to gain life experience. My main goal during this year is to do a project that is not only challenging and rewarding for myself but to make a difference by helping children who are less fortunate than me. Globalteer has built a school for 300 children to attend because, without it, many of them would not have this opportunity.

My duties will be to assist resident school teachers and to teach the children basic English and Maths, as well as encouraging creativity in arts and crafts, and hopefully incorporating my passion for music through playing instruments and song. I would like to raise money to buy musical instruments to leave in the school to enrich their creativity with music.

Overall, I need to raise around £5,000 for my project and additional expenses. I have managed to raise £2200 through holding fundraising events. Please fund me to enable me to take on this challenge!
