The final stretch...6 miles/years. Middle daughter gained her Masters degree, Andrew gained a puppy for his 60th birthday, we moved house and we both semi-retired. The children have all moved out (some more than once!) but we've gained 2 gerbils, 2 more cats, another dog, several chickens and a tortoise. We completed 65,000 metres/40.4 miles, rowed in 6hrs 22mins, with approximately 3600 calories burned in 10,300 oar strokes. Day 5 in the rowing room and we've covered another 6 miles/years to reach August 2015. Our 3 daughters have all completed their degrees and our eldest is married! The family now explodes - we have two grandchildren and a grand puppy. Three beautiful kittens were dumped in a bag in our garden - so of course we kept them all. (This was a sign of things to come!) As our rowing machine counts metres not miles we've decided to round up our target to 65000 metres. Tonight we've reached just over 55600. With luck, tomorrow we'll reach our target.
