In October I will be travelling to the NIRINA dog shelter in Bosnia-Herzogovina (you can find them on FB and donate or sponsor a dog). This shelter provides true sanctuary to around 600 stray dogs, with no running water or electricity on site. I’ll be driving my van 1400 miles each way with supplies for the dogs. This will also be a learning experience in shelter medicine on behalf of my fledgling charitable organisation which you can read about at www.squarepegsdogrehab.org.uk . I’ll be funding the Bosnia trip myself, but any donations towards it mean more money can be diverted to setting up a sanctuary here in the UK. Some 10,000 plus healthy dogs are destroyed each year in the UK for lack of a place to go.
