    Story

    TO ALL KIND PEOPLE...

This is Mark, 5 and Dani, 13. Their mommy Julia, 37 is bed-bound and she needs meds to cope with pain. They don't have a father. They live in Ukraine and Government gives only £30 a month... They cannot survive on this.

Are you a parent? I am and I live in the UK where Government and people help a lot. My children are small and helpless, I cannot imagine how they would survive and managed to earn money for expensive medication and care after me if I couldn't get out of the bed!

We are fundraising to help these two little boys save their mommy.

Julia is only 37 and has osteochondrosis degree 3-4, spine spondylosis, multiple intervertebral herniation & myelo polyradiculitis. The hospitals in Ukraine are now refusing further attempts to treat this mix.

However it is possible to cure her condition with a private surgery at a specialist hospital in Kiev or abroad. Unfortunately this is only a dream for Dani.

If untreated timely, hernia can lead to full paralysis.

    Here is their story:

"My name is Daniil, I'm 13 years old. It's been already 5 years since my Mommy is very ill. And it's getting worse and worse. Our doctors are saying that nothing else can be done...

She has pain in her back every day, all day... The doctors prescibe heavy painkillers which kill pain but they also cause more problems overall.. Sometimes she can’t feel her fingers, they are all white... She can’t work or do anything around the house.

To survive I try to help my mother at home as much as I can with my small brother. He is just 5. I love my mom an my only dream is that my Mommy gets better!

This is my Mommy when she could walk properly. Osteochondrosis of the 3rd degree is considered to be the most difficult, as there are serious changes in the intervertebral discs leading to several complications. She had few surgeries in Ukraine but in vein. Last time they took her off the theatre 5 minutes before the surgery was meant to take place as her hemoglobin got so low they couldn’t administer sedation.

Now she has also developed Intervertebral herniation and goes from one course of pills and other medications to another.

I can’t look at her without tears, she’s only 37.

This is her now. She struggles to sit for a long time.

This is how we live. I'm the only one who is working in our family. She gets state benefits which is about £30 per month! To help my Mommy survive, and to buy some food for us, we need at least £250 a month....

In Ukraine it's very hard to get any help, that's why I'm trying to get help from the outside of the country.

I'm trying to earn as much as I can. I still want to finish school. So I do the decorations for the jars, boxes, vases and other things. I'd love to paint properly on paper or canvas but it's either that or my mommy's pills...

It is all my handwork. However in Ukraine I'm only able to get 50 pence per jar...

When I a'm 16, I will graduate from school and be of legal age to get a paying job. Until then...

Please help us with anything you can. Just £10 will help us to survive another day...

I can post you a gift jar I can do jar for sugar, salt, spices or a jar for pens. Anything you would love to have. It's not permitted to mail any glass things outside the Ukraine, so I will only be able to mail abroad things made out of plastic, wood or metal."

    *****

On Dani's Facebook page you can see all Julia's medical documents and some more family pictures. Julia's Medical documents

The boys need at least £250 per month just to buy minimal treatment pack to keep their mother alive for the next 3 years.... After this Dani will have a legal right to work.

At present there's no money for any kind of treatment, so as a first step, we are trying to raise the money to pay for pills and food. At the moment if there's no money, there's no medication. Young Dani and Mark cannot bear watching her struggling with her condition.

If we find 1000 people who give just £10 each this will buy 3 years of happy and pain-free life for these 2 kids and their mother

As a second step, I want to help my friends to cure the condition. If we manage to raise more, Julia will be able to get seen and examined in private. It may still be possible to beat the condition but there is no-one to do the required spine surgery on such late stage in their town.

If we don't arrange the required surgery soon enough, Julia may end up fully paralyzed and Dani and Mark will go into foster care.

    The money are needed for:

    1) the private surgery to remove the herniation on her spine

    2) followed by a proper course of physiotherapy that has to be done regularly for at least few months

    3) we will need to relocate the family to a regional center Suma where there's a good physio and an osteopath, pay for temporary accommodation and pay for physio, osteopath services as well as massage sessions to be maintained regularly

    4) to provide required medicines, food & living support to cover before & after surgery period.

Unfortunately at the moment the family doesn’t have the money even for a consultation or MRT...

Dani’s dream is to get his mommy cured and may be even have a baby-sister one day...

Please help the family to make it true. I'm confident we can help these boys and their mommy! Thank you for just giving.
