A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity has come up for my partner Ria, who was adopted to Scotland from Sri Lanka at 3 weeks old. She has been offered help in tracking down her birth family as part of a documentary, and on the 7th October we'll be flying out there together to embark on this huge adventure.

We have already raised enough money to help fly me out there with her - amazing! - and are now hoping to raise some money to give to a charity out there. Ria has found a few children's charities which she'd be so thrilled to be able to able to support while we're there, as helping children whose position she might have been in would mean so much to her. We saw the poverty levels first-hand last year, and a little really would go a long way out there, so any amount you can afford will be hugely appreciated, no matter how small.

More than anything else, your love and well-wishes over the next month or so will be a tremendous support and very much felt. As you can probably imagine it's a really scary time for Ria and it will be a huge comfort to her to feel you all rooting for her through all of this.
