Story
This is Honor, a pupil at Overchurch Infant School. She is 4 years old and has spastic quadriplegic cerebral pal . As a result of this she can't walk. She is so desperate tdo so, and tries her hardest with everything she has got. She has had intense physiotherapy for most of her life and has come on beyond our expectations. She's had 2 round of Botox to try help her which also hasn't worked likethey hoped.
Last month Honors parents had a meeting in Alder Hey with a surgeon who gave the go ahead for a surgery called SDR (Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy ). This surgery involves cutting some of the nerve fibres in the spinal cord to reduce some of the spasticity in her legs.
Although this operation is not guaranteed to make Honor walk, we are all hoping it will help.
This surgery is not funded by the NHS. Therefore her family and friends are raising the cost of the operation which is £16000, by doing anything they can
