Story

As most of you know I spent some time living and working in Peru. I met a lot of amazing little kids there but no one quite like Liam. It was difficult for Liam to grow while he was in the womb and as a result suffers from a severe disfiguration to both his hands and feet. Liam has a rare congenital malformation called Ectrodactyly. This means that he is missing 90% of his fingers and toes, and those which he has are seriously deformed. As Liam has gotten older he finds it difficult to walk without being in pain and struggles to carry out tasks that involve using his hands. He regularly suffers from sores to both his hands and feet. Ectrodactyly affects about ever 1 child out of 15,000. Liam is a happy, funny and insanely sharp 5 year old who has the potential of an amazingly bright future ahead of him. Liam is being denied the chance to have reconstructive surgery in Peru because his family cannot afford it. It causes them great heartache and stress. This surgery would stop his increasing pain, allow him to hold a pencil when he starts school and run around with his brother. These may seem like small things but would be life changing for Liam. I have spent many amazing months with him and he has become my family. He brings so much joy to my life and his family's. This is why I have decided to take on a very special challenge in attempts to raise money for his surgery. I would appreciate any donations that you could make. You would be contributing to changing a young boys life in the most incredible way.
