Ian Mawdsley, of Helmshore, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday 20th September, aged 60, following a short illness. He was a truly special man, generous, kind-hearted and made an impression on everyone he met and we have all been greatly comforted by the outpouring of compassion, love and sympathy we have received. With every tear and every smile his memory will be cherished.

Ian lived his entire life in Helmshore and had many lifelong friends there. A natural, passionate, and competitive sportsman he loved taking part in so many sports, excelling in them all, and played for teams in the Rossendale Badminton League and Parkwood Tennis Club where he will be dearly missed. Ian truly cherished being part of such a warm and welcoming community at Parkwood.
