Story

Hi everyone,

I’ve created this Crowdfunder to help my very good friend (and work buddy!) Eve Bingham and her family during a very difficult time while they navigate their beloved son Jacob’s ongoing health battle.

Jacob is currently in Great Ormond Street Hospital in London awaiting heart surgery, having already undergone a major operation last month.

Anyone who has met this remarkable young man has been so impressed by his bravery and  determination.

Jacob will be turning 14 later this month and one of his favourite past-times is building intricate Lego models. Spending time building these huge pieces helps to keep him occupied during lengthy hospitals stays and brings him a whole lot of joy.  We would love to gift him a spectacular Lego  Set  and a little birdy flew in from London and told us exactly which one...he’d love a Pokemon 3D set!)

We would love your help funding this! Any extra money raised will go directly to Jacob’s family to cover the expense of their extended stay in London.

A little bit more about our brave Jacob....

Living with Noonan syndrome, a rare genetic condition, Jacob faces challenges that affect various parts of his body, particularly his heart.

He has hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, mitral valve stenosis with evolving hypertension, a heart murmur, and two ventricular septal defects (VSDs).

As a result, Jacob has spent much of his young life facing medical appointments, tests, and treatments that most children never have to think about.

Last month, Jacob underwent major heart surgery in the hope of improving his condition. Sadly, the operation did not achieve the outcome everyone had hoped for, and he is now preparing to undergo further high-risk surgery.

Despite the uncertainty and challenges that lie ahead, Jacob continues to face each day with incredible courage and resilience, never allowing his health conditions to define him.

A bright, bubbly, and fun-loving young boy, his smile would light up any room.

Although his heart condition limits some of the physical activities he can take part in, Jacob never lets that stop him from trying. He completed seven years at Dickson Primary School where he thrived and currently attends Lurgan Junior High, where he is excelling at his studies.

As he prepares for the next stage of his journey, Jacob carries with him the love and support of his mum Eve, dad Stephen, younger brother Thomas and his wide circle of family and friends.

Surprising him with a spectacular Lego set would help brighten his hospital stay and as previously mentioned, any extra money raised will go directly to his family to ease the financial burden of their unexpected second stay in London.

Anyone who knows Eve will know that she would be the first person to help a family going through a difficult time in our community. This is the very least we could do for her to help ease the financial worries of caring for a sick child.

Any donation of any size would be greatly appreciated!
