Story

#justinshouse

There is a gentleman living in the woods locally. I came across him when he was considering taking his life recently. I was aware that drugs/drink could have been the cause of his feelings but it has transpired that he has just come upon hard times and has resorted to living in a tent since March. Since then we have tried to help as much as possible. He has been turning up promptly for voluntary work that has been offered (which includes a 4 mile walk each way). Work seems to keep him happy. The cold months are coming and he cannot winter in a tent. GBC are aware but cannot help him as he is a non priority case. Bidding on houses is also hard when you live in the woods with no electricity/wifi. I want to raise enough money to get him a place and pay the deposit and a months rent or so to help him back on his feet. He has placed a deposit on a small car which will help him with work prospects and we have a couple of things lined up. As he is in receipt of some benefits and has two days a week work promised when he has a car, I am confident that he will be a good tenant. His tent is extremely tidy. Please help him to get safe and warm before it's winter.
