Salaam all, I have recently found out that my sister in law has a sister in Pakistan, who lives in a village within Mirpur with her 4 children and her husband. Her husband no longer works due to a disability and this poor woman has no livestock and sustainable food sources, she lives in total poverty with 4 children to feed/clothe and daughters to marry which in Pakistani culture can be costly due to doweries etc. Me and my husband sent £100 to her during Ramadan which roughly equates to 10,000 rupees, she was able to provide food for her children and pay some outstanding bills with this money. She was incredibly grateful Alhumdhulilah to what seemed to me like nothing. It really feeds the soul when you give wealth somewhere where you are able to see the difference. I give charity normally through direct debit because its easier and convenient but truth is I really have no idea if what I give is reaching the right people so now I feel I want to help one person at a time Inshallah.
