Story

The old Christmas lights on Kinghorn High Street were broken and a real sorry sight last year! They have now been removed by Fife Council. We need to bring back some Christmas cheer to the village after this awful year.

A new subgroup of the Kinghorn Community Council has been set up to look at options and costs for replacements. We were in the process of planning several fundraising events but Covid has put paid to that for now so it would be great if we can kick-start the fundraising through this Just Giving web page.

We have applied for Council funding which will need to be matched by our own fundraising.

The cost of 10 sockets for the lampposts we want to use is 3200 plus VAT and this work has to be carried out by Fife Council. This is a one-off charge and we will have the sockets there for the future.

The cost of 10 motif style decoration with lamppost braids will also cost around 4000 pounds.

Finally installation, removal and storage costs are nearly 3000 each year too and the council have insisted on this as everything has to be removed each year.
