I am going with a team of Doctors, Nurses and specialists from the Healthcare team of my local church, Jesus House London working in collaboration with a charity called Action In Focus to deliver free medical care to the local population in Nairobi, Kenya. We are going to provide Vital healthcare in the following areas: preventative care (which would cover how to prevent numerous diseases and staying healthy), an eye clinic, Gynaecology (which covers pregnancy, family matters, birth control) and also primary care (cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar, hypertension, and diabetes checks, as well health screening for cervical and breast cancer). The healthcare system in Nairobi is still developing and in certain areas resources are minimal or not available. In areas where it is available, it comes at a cost.
We are offering this service to the people free of any cost to them. It has always been a desire of mine to volunteer for charity work that will make a difference in people's lives, particularly those less fortunate. The trip is self sponsored and is on the 3rd to 12th of November 2017. I am appealing to my dear friends and family to assist me financially, my target amount is £2,000. As you can see, my notice is short and time is of the essence. Your sponsorship will help cover the cost of medical supplies as well as transportation whilst out on the medical field.
