Story

A group of local fitness enthusiasts are participating in a fun triathlon at Largs Vikingar on Saturday 16th November 2024. They will swim, cycle and run in order to raise much needed funds for Largs Foodbank. The funds raised will ensure that this service can remain open for our local community for the foreseeable future.

Largs Foodbank has been operational in Largs since 2014. It is situated in Largs Community Church, formerly Clark Memorial Church, Largs and is run by a fabulous team of volunteers. It supports the Largs, Fairlie, Cumbrae and Skelmorlie areas.

With the ever rising costs of daily living, Largs Foodbank supports vulnerable single people, couples and families who would otherwise be struggling to feed themselves. Illness, disability, family breakdown or the loss of a job are just some of the reasons our service is required and any of these circumstances could happen to any one of us.

Largs Foodbank is a self-funded organisation and relies solely on donations and fundraising. Our volunteers work tirelessly to ensure there are funds available to keep this vital service afloat for our local community.

Please support our triathletes by donating what you can. Every little helps. As the Foodbank is run by volunteers, all funds raised will go directly to stocking our shelves.
