I've raised £13000 to to raise funds to make improvements to the facilities at Portway.

Be part of an unique crowdfunding challenge.
“LEJOG4THEBOG”, , will see five blokes of varying vintages and fitness cycle from Lands’ End to John O’Groats (LEJOG) to raise money to improve facilities at Birmingham & Solihull Rugby Club.
Like all grassroots rugby clubs, “the Bees” has an on-going need to raise funds from a variety of sources - not only to meet day to day running costs - but also to pay for improvements to its facilities.
Our intrepid cycling quintet - comprising Chairman of Rugby Dai Phillips, retired M&J Coach Phil Millichap, current first team player Ben Phillips and two proper cyclist in Mark Roberts and Jack Spuffard (Spuff to his mates) - have come up with daring plan to raise £13,000 to install a much-needed new set of training lights at the Portway ground. Not very romantic I know, but a vital part of the club’s infrastructure which has frankly seen better days.
Any money left over will go towards other improvement schemes in the pipeline, which include mending a very leaky roof and perhaps even installing some new floodlights too.
Setting on 21st June, the “infamous five” hope to complete the challenge over 13 buttock clenching days in the saddle, on a route which will cover 1,030 miles. No mean feat, especially when you consider the general fitness levels of some of the participants!
They will be nursed along throughout their journey by a mobile support team, including Jackie (Phil's wife), Buster their dog, and Andrew Lockington one of BEES main sponsors. They will be posting regular updates via social media throughout their epic journey.
Donations however great or small will be gratefully received and will be just reward for their endeavours. Importantly, it will help on-going efforts to maintain and improve a community sports facility, which continues to facilitate participation in sport from the age of 7 upwards.
Thank you for your kind support!
