Hello my name is Leo, in 2015 at the age of 36 I had a stroke. Days after I had the stroke my brain started to swell and I was dying. The surgeon had never done an operation like it before but agreed to operate, to save my life part of the left side of my brain was removed due to the damage from the stroke.
The operation was a success and I am here today doing everything I can to recover from my stroke. I have been left with left side paralysis and aphasia (speech problems).
since having my stroke I have done everything I can to try and improve and get my life back on track, I have had support from family, Derbyshire stroke services and my local gym called 'the gym' on Chester street. I am greatfull for all their help and support in my recovery.
I have recently found a clinic in Florida that are trying out a new treatment for stroke survivors, and it has some really amazing potentially life changing results.
This treatment however comes at a cost of £6000. It is an injection given in the back of the neck to help the brain recover from the effects of stroke or brain injury.
'the gym' has offered to help me fund raise for the chance to have the treatment and if I can reach the £6000 target I could have the treatment before Christmas 2017.

The treatment is a miricle, within an hour the effcts of stroke can be reversed and improvements can be seen in speach, walking and hand co-ordination
