On Wednesday, August 16th I am planning on carrying out a daft idea I had some time ago and am going to attempt to walk from my house to my mum's house. She lives in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, 140 miles away from me. I am aiming to walk about 25 miles a day for 6 days, staying in hotels and B and Bs, arriving at my mum's on the Monday.

Some of the people I have told about it have asked if I am doing it for charity. Although it wasn't my original motivation I think it would be good if I could use my challenge to raise some money and so if anyone would like to sponsor me/make a donation I will share any money received equally between my fantastic workplace - The Redway School for children with learning difficulties - and Save the Children. I am funding the hotels etc myself so all money received will go to my school and Save the Children.

Very important!!! - For all those of you who know mum/grandma/Pat please, please don't tell her as she will only worry!! I am planning on surprising her.
