I've raised £2500 to raise funds to enable Sussex Marlins Masters Swimmers to represent Great Britain at the World Championships in South Korea, this August.

Mid Sussex Marlins Swimming Club, is one of the largest swimming clubs in Sussex and the South of England. It is a diverse and vibrant club with around 950 members, across a number of sections – Masters, competitive squads, para-swimming, water polo and teaching groups, with a strong representation at county, regional and national levels.
For the 18th FINA Masters World Championships taking place in Gwangju, South Korea in August 2019, we would like to send a team to represent Great Britain. The team will be made up of swimmers in both individual and relay events and in many age category's. Many of the swimmers either have held or currently hold multiple records, including World and European records, and have gained Silver and Bronze medals in the 2017 Masters World Championship. Our aim is to retain and improve their rankings and times on an international stage.
Mid Sussex Marlins Masters swimmers come from many areas of Sussex and train in a variety of venues including David Lloyd, Worthing. Steyning Leisure Centre, and the home of Marlins The Triangle at Burgess Hill and the Dolphin in Haywards Heath.
Our ambition is to increase our individual and team haul whilst representing Great Britain and to promote the sport of swimming to the wider community of Sussex residents and to get them involved in Swimming at all ages.
We are all amateur athletes and are fully self funded and have no access to funding to support the team going to the Masters World Championships. This does mean that many talented and hardworking team members do not get the opportunity to compete at this level.
We are now looking for sponsors and vital funding to enable us to achieve our goals of making the 18th Masters World Championships a success for Great Britain and our swimmers. Our target is to raise enough finance to send myself and my mum to represent Mid Sussex Marlins and Great Britain, these vital funds are to cover transport and accommodation costs which currently stand at £1750 per swimmer.
